Halton equips 250 kitchens at Resort World Sentosa

For Resort World Sentosa, Halton Malaysia worked closely with local Foodservice Consultant Mr. Roger Pilgrim, comments Jonathan Chai, Halton Area Sales Manager for Singapore and Thailand.

Mr. Pilgrim has worked with Halton on numerous projects in the past.  As a foodservice consultant, he has specified Halton solutions for several other notable projects including Singapore In-flight Catering, Thai Airways In flight Catering and many hotel & resort projects, Chai continues.

Resort World Sentosa environmental concerns were paramount. As a result Halton Capture Ray UV hoods were specified. In addition to saving energy they also mitigate emissions to the outside by breaking down grease particles from the kitchen exhaust air.

The scope of the project for Halton is delivering a staggering 250 UV hoods for 50 kitchens on schedule. The coordination of the project installation was worked out with the two installing contractors, Somerville Pte Ltd and Steel Industry Pte Ltd and Halton to everyone’s satisfaction. Kitchens are to be ready by end of Oct 2009 to prepare for opening of the Resort World one week before Christmas. Halton is doing its part to make sure this happens.

For the foodservice operators, Halton’s solution, based on the high efficiency Capture Jet technology resulted in reduced exhaust airflow rates.  This allowed for further reduction and savings in Air Conditioning tonnage. Operating cost were projected to be 30-40% lower than conventional design. These savings were a key factor in deciding on partnering with Halton along with our experience with projects of this size.

Global presence, local expertise, Halton providing value through technology and local customer support
