Many kitchens require emission control in their exhaust systems to comply with the increasing demand for environment-friendly operations. The Capture Ray UV hoods are based on Halton’s patented Capture Jet solution, advanced mechanical KSA filter technology, and a UV-C system for the destruction of grease generated in the cooking process - all of which mean clean ducts and improved fire safety.
UV-C technology is a breakthrough in kitchen ventilation

UV-C technology takes emission control and filtration efficiency to entirely new levels. Halton Capture Jet technology incorporates the most advanced mechanical KSA filters, removing 95% of grease particles sized 8 microns and above, and the Capture Ray UV-C system to expose cooking effluent to ultraviolet light, which breaks down grease molecules into smaller harmless compounds. The compounds are carried out with the exhaust air flow, leaving grease-free ducts and reducing odours in the fan discharge area.

Not just UV-C light!

Total system efficiency is the starting point for a fully functional UV system. The system design evaluates both exhaust and supply on the basis of actual heat loads and Capture Jet efficiency. Organic compounds are reduced by combining the best mechanical filtration available with the lowest possible operating air flow, thus giving the optimal residence time to the UV-C light and the longest working time to breakdown the grase molecules.
